It was a Hot Humid day with thunderstorms
on the horizon when the Frewsburg Bears
paid a visit to Westside.

The JV team came out of the gates very slow
and after the first weather delay found
themselves down 13-0.  The team battled
back overcoming a penalty on an 80 yard
touchdown run by Graham Davis to make the
score 13-6 when Dylan Lundmark scampered
into the end zone.  The defense held tough
allowing an Anthony Slaughter run of 90 yards
with no time remaining in the first half.  During
the extra point, Mother nature paid a visit and
after several downpours with thunder and
lighting, the game was postponed until 9/11
at 5:30 at Persell to determine the winner.

After waiting 3 days the game continued on a
chilly Tuesday afternoon.
The Panthers were stopped on the delayed
extra point keeping the score 13-12.
Offense was in the air with scoring on every
possession except one in the second half.
Several long td runs by Graham Davis and
Adrew Slaughter highlighted with Westside
coming out on top 43-36.
Next up, Chautauqua Lake this Saturday.
After a lengthy rain delay, the officials decided to get the
Varsity game started.  Frewsburg came out running
hard in the first half to blank the Panthers 13-0.  The
Bears were driving in the last minute of the first half
when Nick D'Angelo caused a fumble to keep the game
within reach.
The team, after a Coach Mack speech, came out the
second half fired up and ready to play.   The defense
didn't allow a 2nd half point but the offense, battered
and injured, couldn't punch it into the end zone.  A tough
loss making the Varsity record 1-1.

Next up, Chautauqua Lake at home.
